Who We Are
SaverLife is a national nonprofit and advocacy organization using technology to improve the financial health of people living on low-to-moderate incomes. SaverLife helps our members build financial health and savings through our fintech product, with a personalized experience that includes financial content, savings rewards and incentives, trusted referrals, and access to a supportive online community. Leveraging our fintech product and research findings, we bring our members' voices and priorities into system-level conversations to ensure current and emerging products, programs, and policies support their unique financial health journeys.
About the Role:
As our Policy Fellow, you’ll be a vital part of our Research Team, helping shape SaverLife’s policy agenda. You’ll track legislation, produce policy insights, and support advocacy efforts that elevate the voices and experiences of our members. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated, policy-savvy individual who wants to work at the intersection of economic justice, research, and advocacy.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor and synthesize policy (Federal, State & Local)
- Track federal policies related to tax, climate resilience, safety net programs, and retirement security.
- Identify and assess how emerging or proposes policy changes could impact SaverLife's areas of interest, informing strategy and advocacy priorities.
- Conduct landscape scans of state and local programs in focus areas like Georgia, Alabama, the DMV region, Newark, and Arkansas.
- Contribute to the development of SaverLife’s public policy positions and create compelling advocacy content such as policy recommendations for research reports, policy briefs, blog posts, and op-eds based on our research and member insights.
- Help identify and connect with key policy stakeholders.
- Represent SaverLife at policy meetings, convenings, and public events to elevate our expertise and perspectives.
- Build partnerships that position SaverLife as a trusted voice in policy conversations aligned with our mission.
- Help identify opportunities for SaverLife to provide expert input in legislative hearings and prepare staff for testimony.
- Collaborate with SaverLife’s Member Advocacy Panel to ensure their lived experiences are reflected in our policy and advocacy work.
What You Bring:
- Solid understanding of federal and state legislative processes and political dynamics
- Ability to interpret and translate complex laws, regulations, and policies
- Excellent written and verbal communication—able to simplify complex policy and research for for diverse audiences
- Passion for economic equity and commitment to amplifying the voices of under-served communities
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, remote-first environment with a collaborative spirit
- Experience with Microsoft Office or Google Workspace, Adobe Acrobat, and Salesforce
- Graduate-level coursework in public policy, economics, law, or a related field or a combination of education and relevant professional experience
- At least 1 year of relevant professional experience (e.g., in government, advocacy, think tanks, or policy research)

SaverLife is a remote-first organization. We are ideally looking for a candidate who lives in the Eastern Standard Time zone (proximity to the DC or NYC metro areas is preferred) and is open to occasional travel as needed. This position is only open to candidates eligible to work in the U.S.
What We Offer
- This is a full-time temporary (12 months) exempt position with an annual salary between $55,000-$75,000. Part-time available by request.
- We offer a $50 per month internet stipend and reimbursement of up to $500 to set up a home office
- We believe in work-life balance and are committed to keeping the workload in alignment with this value. We offer flexible work schedules and alternating Flex Fridays off.
- Full-time employees are eligible for full individual medical, vision, and dental insurance. SaverLife also covers 50% of health benefits for employee families.
