Summary:

As an Automation Controls Engineer at Revasum you will be responsible for selecting and implementing components used in automated semiconductor manufacturing equipment (tools). These complex tools utilize multiple analog and digital sensors, drives and motors, computers, I/O components, wiring and connectors. You will be working in various third-party vendor applications to commission and tune servo, stepper, VFDs motors for optimal performance. You will be responsible for maintaining existing PLC applications as well as designing and developing control systems for new tools using Structured Text (IEC 61131-3) programming language. You will contribute to the success of our tools by working on a inter-disciplinary agile team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Experience with Visual Studio, Beckhoff Hardware, and TwinCAT 3
  • Troubleshoot and resolve software, automation, robotic, control systems of a computer, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic nature
  • Maintain strong working relationship with C# (User Interface) developers to produce reliable automated tools
  • New feature design, development, verification, and deployment
  • Design and implement reliable safety systems for safeguarding robots and tool operators of semiconductor manufacturing equipment as per CE and SEMI standards 
  • Manage vendors during specification and design portion of projects
  • Participate in initial equipment conceptual development and carefully balance product specifications, process requirements, layout, cost, and lead-time limitations 
  • Research and test new industrial controls hardware and software components
  • Working knowledge of communication protocols including RS-232, RS-422, RS-485, and EtherCAT
  • Design, develop, and maintain HMI screens for complex semiconductor equipment
  • Develop unit tests for production code
  • Create and maintain installation/upgrade documentation for use by internal teams and clients
  • Design functional circuit diagrams for troubleshooting faults
  • Must be ambitious and motivated to learn about new products and skills
  • Must be able to work independently
  • Excellent communication skills; oral, written and listening
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills using diagnostic equipment including multimeters, oscilloscopes, etc.
  • Proficient reading pneumatic and electrical schematics
  • Review and provide feedback to contract engineer designs
  • Create and maintain subsystem test bench design and development
  • Experience with drive and motor selection, configuration, and tuning (including stepper, servo, and VFDs) for fast and smooth operation (Beckhoff, Kollmorgen, Rexroth, Mitsubishi) 
  • Solid understanding of feedback and PID theory
  • Assure system and product quality by designing testing methods; testing finished-product and sub-assemblies; confirming assembly and installation processes
  • Work with third-party vendors to certify Revasum equipment for UL and CE Certification
  • Experienced in computer and networking technologies

Education, Experience, and Certifications

  • B.S in Mechatronics, Controls System Engineering or equivalent
  • Three to five years of relevant work experience
  • CompTIA A+, Network+ Certifications preferred
  • Beckhoff TwinCAT, SOE, COE, SMO, STO
