Summary: Under the direction of the Manager of Manufacturing Engineering the Associate Mechanical Engineer position will aid in Design for Manufacturability encompassing improvements to new and legacy tools. This role will primarily support the manufacturing team by generating fixture designs, making production-level design changes, performing drawing maintenance, and crafting sufficient documentation to ensure proper build to print. The engineer will own the design and its success from conception, to initial procurement, test, and release. The Associate Mechanical Engineer should be enthusiastic about developing a deep understanding of tool function, be willing to embrace hands-on experience, and able to support production team members with instruction and clarification. Must have ability to understand complex issues and quickly diagnose issues under pressure. Must be able to find and implement thorough engineering solutions for future work or work in progress.

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities.

·       Submitting drafting changes and making corrections quickly and effectively as needed.

·       Evaluate electromechanical systems and products based on application of mechanics, vibration, stress analysis, thermodynamics, hydraulics, heat transfer, materials and manufacturability input.

·       Develop deep understanding of tool function by applying mechanical principles complimented by plenty of hands-on experience with Revasum tools.

·       Gain extensive hands-on experience with tool and component construction.

·       Ensure products are repeatably built to perform to ultra-precise requirements

·       Investigate potential improvements. Determine solution pathways and required prototyping and tests if needed to gain answers.

·       Utilize understanding of production requirements to provide design recommendations; research and test manufacturing and assembly methods and materials; soliciting observations from operators.

·       Determine appropriate geometric dimensioning and tolerancing based on part form, fit, and function.

·       Assist the Design Engineering team with practical feedback based on assembly realities.

·       Correctly and completely implement engineering change orders. Navigate the engineering resource portal to research and find pertinent information.

·       Assures system and product quality by designing testing methods; testing finished- product and system capabilities; confirming fabrication, assembly, and installation processes.

·       Tooling and fixturing design.

·       Cost Reduction recommendations.

·       Other duties will be assigned.
