About the position

 

SafeTraces is looking for a Biological Lab Technician responsible for performing tasks in our R&D laboratory per standard operating protocols. The fast-moving nature of the work requires excellent attention to detail, effective written and verbal communication skills, the ability to prioritize different projects and tasks, and work independently. This is an on-site position in Pleasanton and Livermore, California.

 

What you’ll be doing:

 

  • Perform molecular biological assays, such as qPCR, ddPCR, and dPCR.
  • Collect and analyze data
  • Work with research team to support innovation of new and current products
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures in a production environment
  • Follow Good Manufacturing Practices in a production environment
  • Maintain accurate records
  • Participate in laboratory work such as routine lab maintenance and safety
  • Assist with R&D projects under direction of Lab Management

 

What we’re looking for:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree completed (or in progress) in molecular biology, biochemistry or related field
  • Hands-on experience in qPCR
  • Proficiency with molecular biology wet lab techniques and nucleic acid technologies
  • Ability to work in a team setting and independently
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • R&D Culture - creativity and integrity 
  • Detail-oriented and quality-focused with the ability to organize and prioritize
  • Ability to recognize and flag basic problems encountered in experimental procedure
  • Experience with Microsoft and Google applications
