Summer Research Internship

ALX Oncology is a clinical-stage and patient-focused immuno-oncology company developing therapies that block the CD47 myeloid checkpoint pathway. Our lead candidate, evorpacept (ALX148), is a next generation CD47 blocking therapeutic that combines a high-affinity CD47 binding domain with an inactivated proprietary Fc domain. Reporting to the Director of Discovery Biology, we are seeking an industrious summer research intern in R&D for 2023. Our paid research internship opportunities are designed to enable students to learn through hands on laboratory projects and to foster industry relationships to support future careers in the life sciences.
Program Highlights
- Intensive 10-12 weeks, paid internship at our Palo Alto, CA laboratory facility
- Program start date in June 2023
- Project involves hands-on experience in mammalian cell culture, cell-based assays and experimental data analysis
- Collaborate with the hiring manager and assigned mentor on research project and deliver final presentation of project work at the end of the internship
Expected Competencies
- Commitment to work a minimum of 10-weeks in a 12-week period
- Ability to perform independent tasks as assigned by the manager

- Intermediate computer skills, including use of the Internet and current standard word processing, scheduling, and email to produce documents and manage office projects
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be 18 of age or older at the start of the internship
- Authorized to work in the United States without Sponsorship now or in the future
- Current high school graduate or undergraduate college student
Salary:
The salary for this position is $20/hr.
