Job Title: Senior Project Manager (Communications and Creative)

Position Summary:

The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research (“MJFF”) is seeking top talent for its two Senior Project Manager positions. The Senior Project Manager oversees the cross-functional execution of work that requires Marketing and Communications (“MarComms”) experience and execution, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required standards. Projects typically include deliverables from content, creative, multimedia, strategy, media planning and analytics teams across multiple channels. The Senior Project Managers will adeptly gather inputs from project leads, strategists and resource teams to develop scope, timelines and clear deliverables for the project. With a keen focus on planning, oversight and execution, they skillfully manage all functional aspects, ensuring that all targets and requirements are met within the specified schedule and budget.

Collaboration is central to their approach, and they work closely with internal departments outside of Marketing and Communications (Development, Research, Technology, Finance) to ensure the successful completion of projects. The Senior Project Manager maintains regular communication with leadership, keeping them informed about critical issues that may impact project completion, budget, or overall results.

MJFF is hiring two Senior Project Managers — with two distinct portfolios of work — to oversee the cross-functional execution of work within MarComms. Please review the descriptions below and indicate in a cover letter your interest in one (or both) portfolios.

Senior Project Manager (Publications and Editorial Content) — This portfolio will support editorial and creative teams who develop — from concept to deployment — MJFF’s print and digital publications and content guides, including our Fox Focus newsletters, principal donor reports and educational (medical) guides. This portfolio will also project manage other collateral requests and updates to our website. Interested candidates should have familiarity with print and digital production.

Senior Project Manager (Multimedia and Public Relations) — This portfolio will support public relations and multimedia teams who lead the corporate communications, media strategies and content development for our educational programming, including our podcast, webinar and video production. This portfolio will also project manage “breaking news” and responsive communications working closely with cross functional teams across the Foundation. Interested candidates should be adept at being extremely nimble in developing project plans.

Regularly assess project risks and implement contingency plans as needed. Prioritize risk management for high visibility and mission-critical projects, while able to assess impacts on other projects across the Foundation
  • Budget and Cost Control: Monitor project expenses, track budgets, and control costs to ensure the project stays within financial constraints. Address any budget deviations promptly
  • Stakeholder Communication: Maintain open and clear communication with all project stakeholders, including clients, team members, senior management, and other relevant parties. Keep stakeholders informed about project progress, milestones, and any potential issues
  • Change Management: Manage and adapt to changes that may arise during the project's lifecycle. Assess the impact of changes and adjust the project plan accordingly. Independently exercise predictive, adaptive and hybrid project management methodologies to meet changing needs of a project
  • Reporting and Documentation: Prepare regular progress reports and documentation to update stakeholders on project status, achievements, and challenges
  • Project Closure: Oversee the successful completion of the project, including finalizing all project deliverables, conducting project evaluations, and ensuring a smooth transition to operations or subsequent projects
  • Continuous Improvement: Evaluate project outcomes and processes, identifying areas for improvement and implementing lessons learned in future projects

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Relevant project management experience with a track record of implementing integrated marketing campaigns that include paid, owned, and earned media, analytics/reporting, print publications, virtual events, and multimedia production
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to effectively manage a diverse project team
