Job Title: Coordinator, Planned Giving

Position Summary:

The Michael J. Fox Foundation (MJFF) is seeking top talent for its Coordinator, Planned Giving position. This position will be responsible for the execution of critical elements of the program, including gift processing, data, and record keeping. In close collaboration with the other members of the team, this position will serve as the main contact on internal communications to ensure gifts are processed in a timely manner, keeping records associated with the department’s gifts and donors, and managing digital files.

This role may be based remote with periodic travel to NYC required. Travel expectations are approximately 15% of the year with the occasional weekend travel or work requirements. Team members plan travel for highest strategic impact thus travel cadence varies (some seasons are more active than others).

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide stewardship support to help solidify long-term interest and commitment to MJFF
  • Serve as main point of contact for donors and advisors, handling initial phone and email inquiries and helping generate new prospect leads that can be converted into active donors by front-line Planned Giving Officer
  • Perform data entry, support processes related to routine paperwork necessary for incoming/outgoing mail; prepare reports for Planned Giving Team
  • Qualify and cultivate new donors coming in through planned giving webinars, inbox, and planned giving phone line
  • Build strong and lasting relationships with constituents through multiple and meaningful points of contact
  • Support the Planned Giving team with data documentation related to specialized gifts, general file organization and CRM record keeping of donor information
  • Manage the gift acknowledgment process, including the review of incoming gifts and generation of donors acknowledgement letters for gift officers to review
  • Support with communicating with donors who respond to Planned Giving marketing campaigns
  • Prepare gift illustrations and proposals for charitable gift annuities and other planned giving opportunities, prepare written materials such as visit strategies/briefings, correspondence, solicitation/proposal and gift intent form documents
  • Coordinate outreach, conduct prospect research, track revenue, manage stewardship, and seek additional opportunities for broader community engagement.
  • Contribute to a collaborative team working environment and have a positive roll-up-your sleeves attitude
  • Assist the Director and planned giving team with other program duties as needed.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Strong time management skills and adept at pivoting to manage shifting priorities
  • Experience in and basic understanding of planned giving, current trends in philanthropy and estate planning for individuals
  • Ability to work independently with sound judgement and attention to detail
  • Results oriented with ability to focus on and meet deadlines and goals
  • Ability to work independently on complex donor strategies
  • Have excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, and emotional intelligence
  • Willingness to travel and work evenings and weekends as needed.  Must have a valid driver’s license.

Salary and Benefits:

The salary range for this position is $55,000 - $65,000.  In addition to salary, The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research (MJFF) offers a comprehensive benefits package, including:
