Job Title: Head of Creative Services

 

Position Summary:

The Michael J. Fox Foundation (MJFF) is seeking top talent for its Head of Creative Services position.  The Head of Creative Services will lead the team responsible for the creative output for the brand from the early concept stages through to production. Duties include developing ideas on how to advertise, working with department leads to create and articulate a shared vision, and leading a design team to complete projects in both information and graphic design. This position will provide creative and strategic leadership to a team of designers. as well as being a contributing member across all creative disciplines.

 

The Head of Creative Services will be expected to have a hybrid-flex work schedule with the ability to work in the MJFF office in midtown New York City. 

 

 

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Creative Strategy: Developing and implementing creative strategies that align with MJFF’s vision and goals. This involves collaborating across all departments, such as Research, Development, Technology, Marketing, Communications, and others on a cohesive approach.
  • Branding and Identity: Ensuring that all creative output reflects MJFF’s brand identity and values. This includes maintaining brand consistency across various platforms and channels.
  • Team Management: Leading and managing a team that includes internal employees, agencies, and freelancers.  This position will be responsible for reviewing the work and performance of team members to ensure workflow and weekly objectives are achieved. This includes assessing skills gaps and growing our capabilities, inclusive of both graphic and informational design, copywriting, photography and more.  We will look to the Head of Creative Services to foster a collaborative and positive work environment.
  • Project Oversight: Overseeing the creative process and bringing strategies to life. This includes creating and managing budgets and resourcing projects to ensure they are completed on time and within budget.
  • Relationship Management: Building and maintaining relationships with internal “client” teams, understanding their needs, and delivering creative solutions that meet their expectations. This involves effective communication and a deep understanding of the different ways that the MJFF brand can be articulated across our various workstreams

 

 

Qualifications and Skills:

  • History of proven success leading an in-house creative team
  • Proven history of expertise as a strong creative leader who can guide the work of the team with the ability to jump in and execute on projects that require a higher level of strategic thinking
  • Proven history effectively managing and mentoring internal and external teams with demonstrated success
  • Expertise managing cross- discipline teams with superior leadership skills and an ability to grow, build, retain, and manage in house and agency graphic and information designers, copywriters, PMs, producers, animators, and UX/UI
  • Strong desire and knowledge of how to inspire creativity, innovative thinking, strong marketing concepts and solutions across team and senior leadership
  • Superior written and verbal communications skills both in concept development as well as in a professional environment
  • Superior organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to present, communicate and collaborate with senior level stakeholders across the organization
  • Advanced skill level of using Adobe Creative Suite software to include Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign
  • Ability to manage stages of the UX process

 

 

Salary and Benefits:

The salary range for this position is $180,000 - $200,000.   In addition to salary, The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research (MJFF) offers a comprehensive benefits package, including:
