Job Title: Grants Assistant
Position Summary:
The Michael J. Fox Foundation (MJFF) is seeking top talent for its Grants Assistant position. Reporting to the Associate Director, Grantmaking, and working closely with members of the operational and programmatic teams, the Grants Assistant provides administrative support to all stages of the grantmaking lifecycle. With annual grant-making exceeding $95 million, the ideal candidate for this position is excited about using technology as a tool to streamline processes, has strong administrative skills, and enjoys providing excellent customer service to MJFF staff, grantees, and applicants.
The position will be expected to have a hybrid flex work schedule with at least part-time in MJFF’s office in midtown New York City. Only candidates within the Tri-state area will be considered.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Support pre-award grantmaking during the application and proposal development process where required, including but not limited to:
- Providing meticulous administrative review of submitted proposals to ensure conformance with program requirements.
- Accurately and efficiently creating and/or updating application records.
- Assisting program staff with the collection of required confidentiality agreements & responsibly handling confidential information.
- Communicating with prospective applicants regarding application guidelines as well as MJFF grantmaking policies.
Support post-award lifecycle during the funding and/or active project management stages, including but not limited to:
- Assisting program staff with award contracting & execution.
- Reviewing & tracking grant payments and refunds; troubleshooting payment issues; entering payment confirmations
- Reaching out to grantees to request grant or payment documentation or to confirm payment details.
Support and initiate efforts to train other team members on grant-related processes.
Support team initiatives and special projects as required.
Qualifications and Skills:
- 0-2 years of demonstrated experience in an administrative capacity.
- Experience and/or demonstrated interest in grants management or non-profit operations.
- Keen eye for detail and an interest in creating efficiencies.
- Proven ability and interest in learning new systems and processes.
- Strong computer skills with excellent command of Microsoft Office.
- Action-oriented, solutions-focused, and proven team-advocate.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and balance multiple priorities.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Salary and Benefits:
The salary range for this position is $50,000 - $60,000. In addition to salary, The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research (MJFF) offers a comprehensive benefits package, including:
