Job Title: Director of Financial Modeling & Business Intelligence

 

Position Summary:

The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research (“the Foundation”) is seeking top talent for its Director of Financial Modeling & Business Intelligence.  Reporting to the VP, Head of Financial Planning & Analysis, this position provides finance and business partner leadership for a $500M nonprofit biomedical research organization. This role leads the Foundation’s cross-cutting forecast and analytics processes and interacts with leaders across the organization. This position is responsible for quantitative and qualitative forecasting and analytical support, developing innovative systems and tools to support business intelligence and data visualization

 

This position can be based anywhere in the U.S. and will be expected to work east coast hours (standard business hours are 9:00am – 5:00pmEST).


Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the planning, preparation and consolidation of annual budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial plans, demonstrating a proactive mindset to ensure timely and effective financial management
  • In partnership with the VP, Financial Planning & Analysis, and Financial Planning & Analysis team, build the multiyear enterprise-wide Financial forecast, offers trend insights, and leads innovative analyses to answer critical strategic questions
  • Develop and maintain robust financial models to support monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting and scenario analysis, continually refine and optimize financial projections
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support strategic initiatives and projects, leveraging a collaborative mindset to drive cross-departmental synergy and innovation
  • Proactively leads ad hoc analyses to answer questions in real-time and anticipates needs of partners across the organization
  • Drives systems development for analytics offerings, working collaboratively across the Foundation to define stakeholder needs and prioritize improvement
  • Provide strategic recommendations on platforms and technologies that accelerate business capabilities, working closely with the Technology team
  • Monitor external environment to identify trends and incorporate new technologies and process improvements into the analytics strategy

 

People Management

  • Builds and leads a team, coaches and develops direct reports
  • Provides coaching and mentoring to members of project teams

 

 

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Relevant experience using Adaptive/Workday, Domo, NetSuite systems
  • Relevant leadership and people management skills, with experience building and managing high-performing analytics teams
  • Accounting experience, including working knowledge of cash flow, revenue recognition, invoicing, and net assets
  • Demonstrated ability to operate in a dynamic, high-growth environment
  • Highly analytical; uses data to support decisions; can clearly communicate complex ideas to diverse audiences
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; can clearly communicate complex information effectively to executive leaders and business partners
  • Comfortable with ambiguity; can build processes and drive towards implementation in a fast-paced and evolving environment
  • Highly collaborative; can comfortably work with a variety of colleagues and stakeholders to gain alignment
  • Familiarity with nonprofit or medical research environment such as in biotech/pharma R&D, CRO, or university preferred



Salary and Benefits:

The salary range for this position is $140,000 - $165,000.  In addition to salary, The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research offers a comprehensive benefits package, including:
