The SCU Health Center provides chiropractic, acupuncture, Ayurveda, and urgent care services to address a variety of ailments and medical conditions. Each patient, based on their needs and condition, receives a customized plan that is right for their health and lifestyle.

Our OTD program welcomes qualified candidates with demonstrated success in working with diverse populations to apply for one of our fulltime, 12-month, core faculty positions in the entry-level Doctorate in Occupational Therapy program in Whittier, California.

  • Develop and teach lecture and lab courses in area of expertise (online, on-campus)
  • Participate in assigned departmental and university meetings
  • Adhere to all university policies and procedures
  • Collaborate with colleagues on interprofessional (IPE) team projects

The successful candidate will also teach foundational occupational therapy courses and courses that build knowledge of occupational interventions for persons, communities, and populations at-risk inclusive of emerging practice areas.



  • A minimum of 2 years as a registered occupational therapist
  • A commitment to evidence-based care, lifestyle health, occupational justice and lifelong learning
  • Applicants with documented expertise in academic and/or clinical practice in one or more of the following areas: Research, Pediatrics, Physical Disabilities, and Mental Health.
  • Competence in Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, Power Point, Teams)


  • Applicants with expertise necessary to ensure appropriate online curriculum design, content delivery (distance learning), and program evaluation.
  • Evidence of exceptional teaching experience and team-based learning
  • Established publication and clinical research

Qualified applicants will ensure academic quality and develop course content from an occupational perspective and delivery in a positive educational environment. The successful applicant is expected to establish a collaborative scholarship agenda as well as contribute to graduate mentoring that supports diversity and inclusion efforts.

Applicants must hold a doctorate degree (EdD, PhD, OTD, DSc) or other relevant doctoral level degree) and be eligible for licensure to practice occupational therapy in the state of California at the time of appointment.
