Position overview

The Business Development Representative (BDR) will work as part of the Sales team with a primary focus on Singularity’s Open Enrollment programs, such as the Executive Program and Future of Biotech. These programs teach international corporate leaders, government officials and entrepreneurs about exponential technologies and their impact on business and society, and run 3 to 5 times a year with admission on a rolling basis.

The BDR’s role is to seek new business by contacting and developing relationships with potential program attendees, to follow up on incoming leads for programs and to support the customer journey through application, admission and enrollment.

Key Responsibilities

Drive sales for Singularity’s Executive Program and other Open Enrollment Programs 

  • Proactively seek and contact potential attendees through cold calls and emails

  • Set up and conduct meetings with prospective attendees to present the program offerings and benefits

  • Close sales of seats for open enrollment programs

  • Stay up-to-date with program agendas and learning outcomes for all Singularity Programs 

  • Take on additional tasks as assigned by the leadership team to further drive program sales and success

Respond to and qualify inbound sales leads and cultivate additional leads through campaigns

  • Collaborate with the marketing team to generate quality inbound inquiries for all Singularity Programs

  • Respond promptly to inbound inquiries via phone and email

  • Qualify sales leads and identify fit for Singularity Programs and Products  

  • Refer qualified prospects for different Singularity Programs and Products to the other sales team members as appropriate 

Maintain detailed records of all leads, communications, and sales

  • Document all communication in HubSpot 

  • Coordinate with marketing to create  reports for leads and sales 

  • Deliver weekly sales reports to company’s leadership team 

 

Candidate Profile

We are looking for a strategic, self-motivated team player to represent Singularity’s brand and sell Executive Education programs to international corporate and government leaders. The right candidate will have a passion for future technology and innovation, an interest in continued learning and education, and desire to leave a positive impact on the world

As we are a remote company, you must have an ability to work autonomously and communicate clearly and proactively with teammates across the globe and collaborate effectively on cross-functional teams. 

Preferred Experience and Expertise: 

  • 3+ years experience in a Sales or Business Development Representative or similar role

  • Hands-on experience with multiple sales techniques (including cold calls)

  • Experience selling high ticket products and services to a premium audience

  • Experience working with international clients 

  • Experience with HubSpot a plus

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Excel (analyzing spreadsheets and charts)

  • Familiarity with Google Suite 

  • Understanding of sales performance metrics

  • Flexible working across international time zones

  • Experience working on a remote team a plus

Position Details

This is a contract for hire position.

The primary point of contact will be the VP, Enterprise

This is an individual contributor position with no supervisory responsibilities. 

The position's primary work location will be remote (United States) with expected domestic and international travel 4 - 6 weeks a year. 

This position is base salary + commission. Base salary starts at $70,000/annually.
