Gen Justice seeks an experienced leader to spearhead the creation and development of Gen Justice research, reforms, and policies. Gen Justice has a proven track record of creating consensus legislation, with reforms impacting 480,000 abused and abandoned children in foster care.

The Vice President of Policy will be tasked with creating meaningful reforms and expanding our footprint to more states and into federal law as appropriate. Some work can be undertaken remotely, but preference will be given to candidates who are committed to leading in person at Gen Justice headquarters in Phoenix, Arizona.

The right candidate will be an accomplished reformer, with a proven history of creating innovative policy ideas and overseeing their enactment into law. Required skills include ability to craft new policy initiatives, think strategically and prepare multi-year legislative strategies, write clearly, persuasively, and quickly, and the ability to speak in a variety of settings from small meetings with elected officials to large, public forums. The Vice President of Policy works closely with the executive leadership team to execute the Gen Justice vision in public policy reform, including the CEO, the senior vice president and legal director and the executive director.

Gen Justice is an award-winning impact charity fighting to mend the child protection system. We work on a micro, macro, and super-macro level, providing a lifeline for children by serving pro bono in abuse and dependency proceedings, strengthening laws with support across political lines, and vindicating the constitutional interests of abandoned, abused, and trafficked children through public interest legal work.
