Help us grow—and help every child find a safe, loving home.
The Center for the Rights of Abused Children is growing rapidly. We’ve been proudly supported by partners like Shamrock Foods, In-N-Out Burger, and community champions like Starbucks and Radi8 Yoga Studios. Now, we’re looking for a bold, entrepreneurial leader to scale our impact—and bring new supporters into the fight for children’s rights.

We’re hiring a Chief Development Officer to lead our national fundraising. This is a high-level role for a seasoned development professional who can build relationships, drive significant revenue, and advance our mission through strategic, transformative partnerships.

What You’ll Do

  • Leverage your network, prospect new leads, and build meaningful relationships that result in major gifts.
  • Manage a dynamic pipeline of corporate, foundation, and individual prospects—from national brands to emerging innovators.
  • Design and execute customized sponsorships, cause-marketing efforts, and collaborative campaigns.

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven success in securing major gifts from individuals, foundations, and business partners.
  • A hands-on, entrepreneurial mindset that thrives in fast-paced environments.
  • A deep commitment to child advocacy and a desire to create lasting change.

What You Won’t Do

  • Manage existing donors—we have a strong base and team in place for that. Your focus is bold, new partnerships.
  • Wait for the CEO to open doors—this role is for a self-starter who owns strategy, outreach, and the close.
  • Get stuck in red tape—we move fast, test ideas, and prioritize results over process.

What This Means for You

The Center is a $4 million organization with plans to scale to $15 million. That means this is more than a job—it’s a chance to grow a nationally recognized, high-impact nonprofit while taking your career to new heights. We believe in compensating great work competitively and are open to building a strong salary + bonus package for the right candidate.

To Apply

Please submit the following:

  • A short cover letter (750 words or less) telling us why you’re the right person for this role—and for the children we serve.
  • Your resume (PDF preferred).

We kindly ask that you do not submit resumes or inquiries via social media or personal contacts. All applications will be reviewed with care.
