Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ideal candidate has experience with state, individual, corporate, partnership, and trust taxation.  As well as some exposure to estate tax planning, non-profit, and international taxation, and reporting.

  • Preparation of tax trial balances and supporting schedules for numerous entities
  • Serve as liaison between company and company’s external tax professionals

  • Review business and individual returns with varying levels of complexity, including multi-state tax return

  • Provide tax planning and prepare tax projections throughout the year

  • Ensure timely filings for all tax deadlines including extensions, quarterly estimates, tax returns and regulatory reporting.

  • Monitor and drive compliance with other tax requirements such as sales and use tax, payroll tax, local business tax, foreign tax filings and withholding

  • Respond to tax related notices from federal, state, and local jurisdictions

  • Support due diligence process for business acquisitions and joint ventures

  • Assist with tax structure for new business ventures and partnerships

  • Provide guidance to company on key tax related business policies (travel, meals & entertainment, employee benefits, multi-state payroll withholding, etc) to ensure compliance with federal and state guidelines.

  • Assist with ad-hoc schedules and reporting

 

 

Desired Skills & Qualifications:

 

  • Experience with Microsoft Office products, with an emphasis on strong Excel skills
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Major in Accounting, Finance or Business preferred
  • Active CPA required, MBT optional
  • 6+ years of relevant experience demonstrating progressive increases in responsibility level, with public accounting experience strongly preferred
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, negotiation and organizational skills are required
  • Experience with ERP accounting systems, Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains is a plus
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both in person and in writing

 

The expected salary range for this position is: $150,000 - $170,000 annually. The actual salary offer will be determined on factors including the qualifications, experience, skills, and abilities of the applicant. This role is also eligible for an incentive bonus. You’ll find a competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits package here at McCourt.
