Wisetek currently has a requirement for a Hardware Refurb Technician, as part of the Operations Team, based out of our Northborough, MA site. The Computer Technician will work with a team(s) in a fast pace manufacturing environment producing, repairing, and refurbishing end-user devices such as Laptops, Desktops, Cell phones, and tablets. The position requires attention to detail, Problem-solving, and hardware repair ability, and experience with Apple products is a plus. The successful candidate should provide hands-on technical operational support in a professional and friendly manner.

 

The Wisetek Northborough, MA site support two key areas of business. The first is contract manufacturing – pick, configure, validate and ship hardware to support our customers. The second is ITAD – IT Asset Disposition, involving the sanitization and refurbishment of used office and data-center hardware so that it can be reused where possible and responsibly recycled otherwise.   

 

Duties include but not limited to the following (Training will be provided for specific tasks);

• Break-fix support for Laptop, desktop, tablets and associated hardware peripherals.
• Be one of the go-to people for technical queries on hardware Testing – Enterprise & Client/Office.
• Ability to follow work instructions and procedures.
• Conscientious, organized and dependable; always meets deadlines and commitments.
• Self-motivated and results driven - self-starter with a sense of urgency, capable of working in a multi-tasking environment and shifting focus appropriately.
• Clearly identify, document, and find solutions for any possible issues and product problems.
• Ability to take responsibility for new tasks and deliver results independently with minimal intervention required.

 

Key Requirements:

• Good knowledge of IT Equipment and computer hardware (Apple Product is a plus).
• Ability to Troubleshoot, diagnose problems and perform repairs using tools and work with small Hardware components and peripherals.
• Support for Operating System, Software installation/troubleshooting MacOS and MS Windows and General understanding of BIOS and Apple Recovery mode.
• Understanding, testing mobile devices and ability to distinguish between different Parts and models. (Android/iOS/iPhone/iPads)
• Proven experience as computer technician or similar role.
• Strong communication skills, written & verbal - need to be able to transfer knowledge clearly and effectively to existing and new team members.
• Experience with Microsoft Navision desirable.
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing processes, tools and techniques is a plus.

 

Qualifications Required:

• Highschool Diploma or related discipline required or equivalent experience.
• Min one year experience in a Hardware repair or Hardware Testing related technical role.
