Today’s targeted drug delivery and infusion needs require confident coordination among physicians, provider staff, and patients. BHI helps connect all three to allow doctors to extend care beyond the office, provider staff to centralize management for greater efficiency, and patients to receive TDD right in their own home with experienced nurses. BHI helps bring physicians, provider staff, and patients together for Better Home Infusion. 

Basic Home Infusion is hiring aPatient Care Center Nurse. This role involves will coordinate with appropriate personnel regarding patient’s plan of care/directing and organizing ancillary care as appropriate, and assisting in the maintenance of patient charts, care-plans, and orders. The position and duties may change and or vary based on the needs of the department, and/or observations made by management.   

This is a full-time, permanent position that operates Monday-Friday.  

Key Responsibilities 

  • Act as a liaison between patients, field nurses, pharmacy, other BHI departments and MD offices 

  • Handle patient requests, concerns or questions regarding intrathecal pump therapy 

  • Be knowledgeable of all aspects of intrathecal pump therapy including pump mechanics and technical understanding of the various intrathecal pumps, pump medications, chronic pain, chronic spasticity and how to troubleshoot  

  • Resource for field nurses to address any clinical and non-clinical concerns 

  • Review medications and bridge boluses with field nurses 

  • Writing and following up on orders to completion 

  • Clinical Reviews and Cancer Reviews during the intake process 

  • Creating Care plans for patients as needed and following up with assigned nurse and provider as needed 

  • Tracking pump replacements, pump site infections, granulomas and other indicators as assigned by the Director of Nursing 

  • Medication and bridge bolus reviews with RN when DM is not available. 

  • Perform other related clinical and non-clinical duties as needed  

Qualifications 

  • Registered Nurse (RN) with an active, unencumbered license in the state of practice. 

  • Minimum 2 years of nursing experience with at least 1 year in home infusion or pain management. 

  • Home health experience preferred 

  • Excellent clinical judgment, problem-solving, and communication skills. 

  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills and the ability to handle details accurately 

  • Must be technologically savvy, including Microsoft Office
