Main purpose of job:

The consulting team at Nexant is required to sell and deliver the highest standards of industry consultancy assignment in the energy and chemicals fields in support of clients within the industry and international financial community.

Key areas of responsibility:

Liaise with clients to manage project deliverables; develop relationships and acquire new business

Manage assignments and maintain quality control, budget and schedule of all deliverables, with demonstrated excellence

Lead execution of assignments with a team of junior-level analysts as required by the project

Execute the project as specified in the contract with the client and to the profitability target authorised in the PAWS form

Exceed client expectations of quality

Prepare PAWS form and ensure authorisation

Ensure invoice are sent as soon as possible for work as specified in the contract

Ensure payment on time either through direct interaction with the client or through delegated interaction to the Accounts team.

Work with the Operations Manager to agree resource allocation

Lead the project team ensuring all team members know and agree their tasks, budget, deadlines etc. Lead the interaction with the client.

Keep the client informed of progress against plan – weekly or as appropriate

Ensure quality deliverables working with the production team

Liaise with the Project Executive on the quality of analysis, strategic input etc.

Report monthly to the Project Executive and Operations Director on performance against contract and plan

o Deliverables and timeline vs plan/contract

o Costs and hours billed vs. budget (labour and non-labour)

o Invoicing and payment vs. contract

Capture intellectual capital generated for future use

Qualifications and Requirements:

The candidate has to be a creative self-starter and work independently.

Good first degree in a subject relevant to the energy industry (for example chemical engineering, chemistry )

Significant experience within the industry with a specific technical/commercial focus in the gas sector

Excellent presentation and confident report writing skills

Demonstrable leadership and management skills

Experience of delivering business cases to sponsors and investors

Positive and flexible attitude to work particularly new initiatives

Excellent verbal communication skills in English including telephone manner

Diplomatic in meeting and working with people, good cultural awareness

IT skills including word processing, advanced knowledge of excel, and use of databases

Understanding and commitment to equal opportunities

Flexible and willing to work extra hours as necessary to accommodate busy work loads
