Main purpose of job:

To edit or rewrite copy to improve readability. Read copy or proof to detect and correct errors in spelling, punctuation, and syntax on possible tasks.

The Editor will work on reports which are included within the NexantThinking subscription programs and focus on technology, economics and market reports on a broad range of energy and chemical-related industries, from hydrocarbon fuels and feedstocks, petrochemicals and polymers, C1 chemicals, to biorenewables and special topics.

Key areas of responsibility:

• To proof read, edit and improve business reports focused on technology, economics and markets which are published in either British English or American English.

• To insure consistency with report data sets and accompanying text.

• Oversee report layout and check content for accuracy and errors within the wider subscription programs.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in relevant discipline

• Excellent standard of academic qualifications

• Strong writing, proofreading and editing skills and experience

• First-class written English

• Working knowledge of American English regarding spelling, punctuation and grammar

• Self-starter, capable of creating and managing own workload

• Very well organised and meet deadlines

• Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to deliver this at all levels

• Positive and flexible attitude to work particularly new initiatives

• Diplomatic in meeting and working with people, good cultural awareness

• Understanding and commitment to equal opportunities

• Capable of developing and maintaining strong client relationships
