Main purpose of job:

The consulting team at Nexant is required to win proposals and deliver project s in the energy , chemicals and petrochemicals files in support of blue chip clients within the industry and international financial community.

The Senior Analyst will also work on reports which are included within the NexantThinking subscription programs and focus on technology, economics and market reports on a broad range of energy and chemical-related industries, from hydrocarbon fuels and feedstocks, petrochemicals and polymers, C1 chemical, to biorenewables and special topics.

Key areas of responsibility:

  • To work within a team to produce analysis and forecast reports which meets the clients' needs.
  • Conduct primary research to understand key industry issues and develop market data.
  • Manage research and analysis of industry data through the use of spreadsheets.
  • To participate in the delivery of consultancy engagements and subscription reports to exceeds client's expectations, through research, analysis and report writing.
  • To meet internal quality, time and budget constraints.
  • Work closely with clients and assists in building strong clients relationships.
  • Develop and broaden personal knowledge and capabilities, to assist in selling.
  • To assist and support team members in all aspects of engagement delivery.

Education and qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in relevant discipline
  • Excellent standard of academic qualifications
  • Good first degree in a subject relevant to the energy industry (for example chemical engineering, chemistry)
  • Higher degree in relevant subject (masters, PHD)

Skills & Experience

  • Primary research skills
  • Previous industry analysis/consulting, research or process industry experience
  • Advanced skills in the use of Microsoft spreadsheets, word processing and presentation applications.
  • Ability to analyse and problem solve.
  • Proficient in the use of databases.
  • Excellent presentation and report writing skills.
  • Excellent mathematical, analytical and problem solving skills.

  • Diplomatic in meeting and working with people, good cultural awareness

Details:

Hours: 40 per weeks. Some evening and weekend activities on occasions

Occasional travel
