Nexant is seeking a proactive and self-motivated Project Coordinator in our Hinsdale office who will be responsible for managing and coordinating with building owners and service providers participating in utility sponsored energy efficiency programs.


The Engineer III is an instrumental part of the delivery and success of the program. The candidate will be responsible for managing a team of engineers and project coordinators working with building owners participating in utility sponsored programs, attending and facilitating meetings, and other related tasks. The candidate should be able to demonstrate previous relevant experience and success at managing multiple projects/programs, budgets, deliverables, and client relations.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Manage a team of engineers and project coordinators that identify, recruit, train, and partner with contractors in alignment with the goals of programs managed by Nexant's Utility Services Group in Hinsdale, IL.
  • Manage a team that is responsible for coordinating incentive invoice reviews and client invoice development with Nexant technical and program management staff
  • Perform scoping level calculations to verify feasibility of a potential energy saving opportunities.
  • Write technical reports that summarize results from energy assessments, recommended energy saving opportunities, calculated associated savings, and estimated incentives. Collaborate with the program team to ensure best in class and timely client service
  • Engage and facilitate Nexant technical staff, as needed (e.g. perform technical analysis, due-diligence reviews, technical assistance, etc.), to ensure robust and timely technical services for utility and end-use clients
  • Support program design activities related to expansion of existing programs and development of new programs
  • Deliver effective presentations and respond to questions and inquiries from Nexant team and industry professionals in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Conduct training seminars to educate stakeholders on rebate program logistics, technologies and new developments in the marketplace.
  • Develop and maintain individual and team strategies for reaching program targets and other business related objectives.
  • Establish and maintain a professional client rapport, including identifying and anticipating client needs and proposing solutions.
  • Manage the Nexant team to work with contractors to maintain an active project pipeline to assure goals and objectives are consistently met.
  • Promptly and accurately address client concerns to assure problem resolution and promote long-term productive relationships. Understand the organization and decision-making process in order to work with stakeholders in determining project eligibility, schedule and potential energy savings.
  • Communicate and coordinate project activities with utility representatives, end-users and other stakeholders, as needed.
  • Consistently meet or exceed program expectations related to contractor goals, marketing, communication, client satisfaction and other key performance indicators.
  • Other duties, as required.

Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Two to five years of utility Energy Efficiency program working experience
  • One to two years of team management working experience is preferred
  • CEM is preferred
  • Exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills
  • Proficient in MS office suite
  • Proficient in using Google docs, gmail and calendar
  • Must be able to travel locally up to approximately 20% of the time.

Experience in the following areas is a plus

  • Design and specification of compressed air, refrigeration, HVAC, building automation/controls
  • Calculation of energy savings for commercial HVAC energy efficiency improvements
  • Building energy modeling/simulation tools.
