This role is responsible for producing and creating engaging content that delivers the right information at the right time to the right audience on various channels. Responsibilities will be split between marketing strategies and initiatives for our utility clients and Nexant corporate marketing and business development activities. The position can be placed in either our Hinsdale, IL or Madison, WI offices.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Produces and creates engaging content that delivers the right information at the right time to the right audience on various channels This role requires a brand publisher mindset: create the content our audience is looking for and then optimize the path to conversion
  • Works with data specialists to measure the results of content marketing activities
  • Develops content marketing initiatives to drive traffic, engagement, and leads that deliver customer retention
  • Delivers effective content marketing strategy and editorial plans to meet the business objectives
  • Develops and manages editorial calendars and organization workflows
  • Edits, proofs, fact checks, and coordinates for a variety of marketing communications to ensure accurate, clear, and complete messaging
  • Monitors accuracy in spelling, grammar, punctuation, style, consistency, tone, and voice
  • Strengths: Excellent communication (especially written); highly detail oriented; thinks creatively and strategically; Editorial mindset that seeks to understand what audiences consume and how to create it


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (BBA, BA, or BS) in Marketing, Business, Communications, Journalism, or related field or equivalent experience required
  • 4-6 years of professional marketing experience
  • Proven ability to develop professional marketing content
  • Energy efficiency industry experience a plus
  • Ability to edit, proof, fact check, and coordinate projects for a variety of marketing communications to ensure accurate, clear, and complete messaging
  • Ability to monitor accuracy in spelling, grammar, punctuation, style, consistency, tone, and voice
  • Must be a self-starter, highly organized, and have strong attention to detail
  • Must have the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment
  • Expert knowledge of and expertise in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
  • Basic knowledge of Adobe products and/or ability to learn quickly
