Duties and Responsibilities
• Support the development and management of Energy Efficiency Programs by collaborating with program teams (Client, Service Providers and Nexant)
• Develop and review Retro-commissioning Energy Efficiency project deliverables which include: assessment reports, energy calculations and measurement & verification.
• Perform energy audits at customer facilities to identify energy efficiency measures
• Perform energy efficiency calculations by using spreadsheet and/or energy simulation modeling
• Produce high quality deliverables (reports and spreadsheets) with limited QC review.
• Forge and maintain excellent client relationships.
• Provide the highest level of customer service, including reliability and responsiveness
• Maintain the highest level of quality control for deliverables (for your work and others); demonstrating technical excellence, objectivity, and clarity while maintaining and advancing projects
• Provide advanced technical direction to other staff. Mentor and train junior engineers on various energy efficiency areas, including energy auditing, Measurement & Verification, and commissioning/retro-commissioning
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Master's degree in mechanical or similar engineering preferred; PE preferred or intent to pursue
  • A strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems and principals; including HVAC, lighting, motors, thermodynamics, fluids, and heat transfer
  • Minimum 5 years of experience within the energy efficiency or building efficiency industries.
  • Energy auditing and Retro-commissioning experience
  • Hands-on experience with mechanical, electrical, and control systems
  • Thorough and accurate with attention to detail
  • Strong writing, interpersonal, training and analytical skills
  • Proven time management ability with the ability to manage multiple projects at once while meeting deliverable deadlines and budgets
  • Familiarity with relevant building codes and standards (e.g. IECC, ASHRAE 90.1, etc.)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (including Excel and Word) and G Suite
  • Experience in the following areas is a plus:
  • Design and specification of HVAC, electrical, or building automation/controls
  • Building and energy modeling/simulation tools (eg eQUEST, EnergyPro Trace)
  • Industrial systems such as compressed air, refrigeration, data centers, process heating, industrial processes, motors, boilers, pumping, food processing, lighting, and process cooling
