About the Job
We are currently seeking a Computer Sciences (or related) student with basic software development knowledge who will be responsible for performing analytical work as well as supporting and designing software applications used to manage programs in the area of energy efficiency. The ideal candidate will have experience in energy efficiency, with some experience building software applications. This position will be in Nexant's Madison, WI, office.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Solving business problems and provide ongoing support with our custom software:
- Diagnosing and researching issues
- Designing new features
- Implementation of code within these applications
- Testing and Documentation
- Proactively monitor and enhance the performance of these application
Qualifications
- Working towards a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering, Physics, Economics, Computer Science or related degree or equivalent education/experience
- 1-2 years of experience in all application development concepts including analysis, design, programming, and testing
- Good understanding of MS Office, specifically communicating between Excel, Word and Access via VBA scripts
- 1-2 years of experience with SQL Server, MySQL, Access, or other relational databases
- 1-2 years of experience with programming language such as Java, C++, VBA, .NET, etc.
- Experience in PHP/JS/CSS a plus
- Experience in the demand management or energy efficiency industry is preferred
- Experience with analyzing and presenting large data sets in a meaningful, concise way
