About the Job

As Residential Energy Analysts, this role conducts and records detailed on-site inspections of residential homes and properties, identifying eligible energy conservation opportunities and ensuring the quality of work performed meets industry recognized standards.

This position is responsible for performing residential energy assessments in support of the Dominion Energy Low income program. This position requires a technical capacity and strong interpersonal skills. The position includes travel to customer homes, educating customers, completing inspections, providing on-site feedback to non-profit weatherization agencies and their subcontractors, grading workmanship, and capturing data to ensure quality control and program compliance. A laptop and smart phone will be required to record data and document projects. The laptop will be provided. Smart phones are Bring-Your-Own-Device with an allowance for data use.

The candidate will be based in the greater Richmond, Virginia area.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work with program management team to perform site pre-qualification assessments of multi-family properties
  • Conduct post-installation inspections for both single and multi-family projects
  • Daily interaction with non-profit weatherization agencies and contractors to assure quality control and program compliance
  • Ensure accurate records are kept for all field work
  • Desk verification of submitted project documentation for program compliance
  • Help develop best practice for weatherization projects and program management
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Minimum High school or GED equivalent required. Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Building Science, Construction technology or related disciplines preferred. Any equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted for formal education.
  • Prior experience (minimum 1-3 years) in residential construction, weatherization, conservation or related fields preferred
  • Must be willing to acquire BPI Building Analyst Certification
  • Required: Willingness to conduct 3-4 audits per day, with the expectations that some weekday evenings and Saturdays are required
  • Strong customer communication skills with proven ability to explain technical concepts and make recommendations in terms that resonate with residential customers
  • Possess excellent customer service skills with demonstrated ability to build relationships.
