About the Job:


The Accounts Payable position is responsible for collecting, coding, paying, andfiling accounts payable for a professional services firm.



Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Receive all supplier invoices and review for proper approval. Chase up invoices that have not beenapproved.
  • Enter supplier invoices into Oracle on a weekly basis.
  • Receive and process staff expenses. Ensure that supporting back-up is sufficient to adhere to the company’s policy on providing receipts. Coordinate expense report corrections.
  • Pay staff expenses weekly, ensuring amounts to pay are accurate, that there are no duplicate payments, and after payment the amounts are disbursed accurately on the accounting system.
  • Pay supplier invoices at period-end, ensuring amounts to pay are accurate, that there are no duplicate payments, and after payment the amounts are disbursed accurately on the accounting system.
  • Ensure the Open Accounts Payable report is accurate, that is, what is shown as still needing to be paid is correct.
  • Maintenance of supplier records to ensure they are up-to-date and accurate.
  • Manage the business travel invoices and credit notes.
  • Communicate with suppliers and employees to answer questions and resolve problems. Communicate with US colleagues to supply information requested or resolve problems.
  • Reconcile bank accounts weekly.
  • Tasks in the department other than AP - these may include other types of reconciliation, AR or project-related work.
  • Any other tasks or special projects as assigned.

Experience and Education:

  • At least three years of experience in an accounts payable role.
  • Must be experienced working in Oracle, SAP or similar large-scale ERP.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
  • Be able to communicate effectively and in a friendly manner with external suppliers and internal customers.
  • Needs to be well-organised and with excellent attention to detail to avoid mistakes.
  • Must be eligible to work within the UK
  • Must be willing to work 20 hours per week
