At Metallicus, we are shaping digital money and revolutionizing the way people transact by building the decentralized financial infrastructure of the future. To date, we have launched and operate Metal Pay (digital banking and crypto wallet) and XPR Network, a distributed ledger for identity and interaction with the card and banking payments settlement layer.
About the role:

Articulate and effective communications skills are essential for coordinating within DevOps team and cross-team collaborations for maintenance notifications.

Communicating and coordinating with development teams to validate and test maintenance did not introduce errors or breaking changes.

Have a solid understanding of software development best practices and software development lifecycles.

Knowledge or experience on assessing CVEs and then remediating with patching or version upgrades using Infrastructure as Code.

Possess intermediate knowledge of programming and command languages used in a DevOps and IT environment.

Must be process driven and enjoys updating documentation to make it more clear so other team members can understand.

Must enjoy collaborating with the DevOps team and ready to train to manage our site's reliability systems and processes.

Must enjoy working closely with other engineering teams to ensure everyone is on the same page in order to achieve minimal-to-no downtime during maintenance.

Location: We’re a fully remote team hiring globally, but this role requires working hours aligned with US time zones.
What you’ll do:
-
Must be able to hit the ground running on the DevOps team members and train on our existing site reliability and vulnerability management processes.

Monthly Patching using a custom Salt Management process that is deployed against all workload accounts for each environment in a careful and methodical manner that requires internal corporate communications to key stakeholders along the way to ensure there are no breaking changes caused by patching.

Quarterly EKS version upgrades for all environments which requires extreme attention-to-detail for upgrading all container add-on components, helm chart upgrades, dependencies and tools.

Annually upgrade all Postgres Aurora Global database versions.

CVE remediation on a regular basis for all AWS systems.

Monitor intrusion detection alerts and create backlog tickets for new CVEs and work with the DevOps team to plan and prioritize remediation.

Must track work and progress in our project management tool so that these tickets can be viewed by an auditor to ensure we are meeting security and compliance requirements.

Facilitate with security by design best practices within DevOps and Developer teams to ensure security and compliance requirements.

Regularly review the company calendar for new meetings and promptly accept invitations to ensure participation and collaboration.
What you’ll bring to the table:

3-5 years of experience as a DevOps or Site Reliability Engineer, solid understanding Linux administration and software engineering.

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Networking, or System Administration—and/or with certifications in AWS, Terraform, CompTIA Network+/Security+, or any Linux certifications. Alternatively, proven experience via Github ir GitLab, references, and passing a technical interview can substitute for formal education.

Must have solid knowledge and experience working with Terraform, Kubernetes, Helm charts, EKS, GitLab CICD and ArgoCD

The ideal candidate is self-taught, quick to learn complex systems, detail-oriented, and extremely driven.
