Summary:

The Inbound Logistics Coordinator is responsible for the coordination and execution of inbound vendor shipments.  This position will be responsible for tracking purchase orders, inbound containers, scheduling inbounds shipments and providing appropriate reports and updates to our internal customers.

 

Major Responsibilities:

  • Track purchase order completion dates by vendor and take a proactive approach to making sure all freight is leaving the factories in time to make the estimated delivery needed at the DC.
  • Review weekly shipping files from suppliers; updates purchase order dates as required
  • Track and update both air and ocean shipments systemically providing necessary reporting.
  • Communicate with internal customers as it relates to delays/challenges of incoming freight.
  • Communicate with the freight forwarder and drayage carriers for updates to ETA’s on containers and make key decisions to avoid further delays and disruptions to receiving.
  • Ensure ASN is entered timely and accurately so it can be received correctly and timely.
  • Develop a process and document SOP's to ensure the accuracy and consistency of POE orders
  • Monitor the ports to ensure timely delivery direct to customers on direct shipments
  • Responsible for scheduling all inbound appointments by evaluating DC capacity and operational requirements
  • Create, Maintain, and/or modify department dashboards and analytical tools.
  • Assist with providing data and key metrics for vendor scorecards.
  • Troubleshoots shipments that have been delayed.
  • Create and maintain a carrier scorecard on all drayage carriers on quality, timeliness and cost.

Critical Attributes/Required Skills/Education:

  • Knowledge of import management a plus.
  • Exposure to Warehouse Operations
  • Strong analytical skills required
  • Must be self-motivated
  • Strong organization and follow up skills
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Able to evaluate situations and make informed decisions.
  • Ability to facilitate and prioritize tasks with internal, cross-functional departments and external suppliers per key time & action milestone dates and business objectives
  • Excellent PC skills (MS Office), including Excel spreadsheet functions
  • Able to perform multiple tasks at the same time
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds
  • Education: High school graduate
