ABOUT THE POSITION

 

Title: Network Engineer, Data Center Infrastructure Operations

Job Location: Orlando, FL

Clearance: DoD Security Clearance Required

Perform as a technical team member of Engineers in the maintenance (technical including VMware, Micro-Services, Networking, Security Services, etc.) of the platform and ensuring continuity of operations for our End Users. In this role you will need to foster a relationship of trust with our customers and technical staff.

Automate, collect, process, and present, system performance, and other metric information to show improvements or degradation over time. Balance hybrid cloud distribution between private corporate infrastructure and public clouds. Work as part of a fast moving highly diverse team across multiple projects simultaneously. Operate in an Agile development and execution environment providing insight into taskings to both the team and customer via Jira and Confluence.

  • Linux system management, as this is the primary operating system, as well as other Red Hat enterprise services
  • Ability to implement, operate, and maintain physical switches, routers, IPS, IDS devices
  • Ability to implement, operate, and maintain a VMware NSX based SDN
  • Understand Kubernetes and micro-service based applications
  • Review and revise processes and procedures for maintaining infrastructure configuration management across the enterprise to include automated system checks against the configuration managed baseline
  • Must be able to author and maintain scripts in a managed Git repository
  • Assures system stability, accessibility, and proper configuration of assigned technical systems and components

 

Required Skills:

  • Proactively identify, locate, mitigate, and resolve network issues
  • Document and present performance records and results
  • Document problems/issues via Jira based ticketing system/tracking log
  • Review and update information security management system process and procedures (data/software)

 

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with Ansible (or similar) infrastructure automation to deploy and configure standard baselines for physical devices and in a virtual environment (VMware and Linux).
  • Write, test, debug, deploy, and maintain scripts utilized for automating tasks, administration, data collection and reporting
  • Audit and report system and performance logs
  • Automate, administer and maintain the environment through configuration management, version control, and backups with the use of scripting
  • Research and/or implement new technologies
  • Effective communications skills to convey system-wide performance information and interact  with vendors/users/customers and developers
  • Ability to solve technical problems involving a variety of integrated software and hardware platforms
  • Knowledge of the DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF) and National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) or similar best practices and security guidelines

 

Required Education/Experience:

  • Active DoD Clearance is required
  • Associates / Bachelor’s degree in technical discipline such as computer science or information technology from an accredited college or university. Will consider additional degrees with accompanied technical experience.

  • VMware Associate (VCTA) to Professional (VCP), Advanced Professional (VCAP)
  • Linux+
  • Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA)
  • DoD Cyber Range Experience
  • DoD Cyber Mission Force (CMF) Experience
