Custodial/Handyman 

Reports to: Facilities Operations Manager 

The custodial/handyman role involves a wide variety of tasks, including but not limited to cleaning, minor carpentry, assembling furniture, setting up for events, moving equipment, helping with loading/unloading, and performing basic landscaping tasks. This is a hands-on role requiring a strong work ethic, professional appearance, and knowledge in various trades, from carpentry and tiling to light plumbing and electrical work. This position requires evening and weekend hours as needed.

Responsibilities: 

• General Maintenance: Performs routine inspections and repairs to ensure the property remains pristine and well-maintained. 

• Cleaning & Setup: Performs general cleaning, furniture assembly, and event setup. 

• Landscaping: Assists with landscaping tasks, including tree trimming and bush hogging. 

• Carpentry & Minor Repairs: Performs light carpentry, drywalling, minor electrical, plumbing issues, and painting. 

• Equipment: Assists staff with loading, unloading, and moving equipment as needed. 

• Safety & Cleanliness: Ensures a clean, safe environment through regular maintenance and addressing issues as they arise. 

Skills 

• Proficiency in carpentry, minor plumbing, electrical work, basic tiling and general maintenance tasks 

• Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills; bilingual ability is a plus. 

Experience 

•  Minimum of 2 years of experience in building maintenance, custodial/handyman work, or related trades required. 

• Driver's License: Required. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Previous maintenance experience, particularly in building upkeep and general repairs. 

• Track record of successful carpentry or craftsmanship work.
