ACCOUNTING CONTRACTOR

Job Purpose Summary

We are currently seeking a full-time Accounting Contractor to support our team through a high-growth, high-change stretch. This role will support month-end close, the accounting for a hedge program, and play a key role implementing FloQast to modernize our close process — freeing up our team to focus on a major ERP transition. This is an initial 4–6 month engagement, with the potential to extend into ERP cutover work.

 

Candidate must be able to work in a team/mission driven environment and be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and jumping right in on day one. 

 

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Own day-to-day month-end close mechanics: journal entries, account reconciliations, variance analysis, and checklist execution.
  • Support hedge accounting documentation and effectiveness testing methodology ahead of the first hedge trades, then prepare ongoing monthly mark-to-market entries and effectiveness assessments once the program is live.
  • Map the current close calendar, tasks, and bottlenecks, and use that diagnostic to help build out FloQast — including reconciliation templates, task lists, and checklists, and training the accounting team.
  • Prepare recurring monthly and ad-hoc reporting as needed.
  • Support ERP cutover work as the engagement extends: data conversion validation, parallel-run reconciliations, and opening balance true-ups.
  • Partner closely with the Accounting Manager, Director of Accounting, and CFO across workstreams.

 

Job Qualifications

  • Solid hands-on month-end close experience, including reconciliations, journal entries, and variance analysis.
  • Exposure to derivative or hedge accounting (ASC 815) is a strong plus.
  • Prior ERP transition or cutover experience is a meaningful plus.
  • Experience with NetSuite, QuickBooks, and FloQast.
  • CPG industry background and CPA preferred.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and able to jump in and contribute from day one.
