Invariant seeks a Crisis Communications Manager to join our growing Strategic Communications and Public Affairs team. You’ll work with a diverse and energetic team of experts driving impact for clients. What you’ll do

  • Play a central role on client teams by leading workstreams, overseeing tactical execution, communicating progress, and contributing insights that help the firm achieve client objectives.
  • Act as an account manager including assigning responsibilities, ensuring their timely completion, and providing support to senior team members.
  • Take responsibility for the development and execution of top-quality communications strategies and materials (e.g., shareholder letters, strategy plans, talking points, and press releases).
  • Serve as the account expert and maintain knowledge of everything that is going on with the account. Employ this expertise to anticipate upcoming account needs.
  • Engage directly with clients and their advisors to provide a value-additive, strategic communications perspective on issues that have a brand, business, or financial impact.
  • Build and maintain relationships with members of the media, occasionally serving as a spokesperson for clients.
  • Support new business opportunities in the marketplace and work to expand current client relationships through innovative offerings and impeccable service.


 Who you are

  • 4-7 years of experience – with a strong preference for candidates with experience in relevant industries (e.g. communications, law, finance, investor relations, or a related field).
  • Client-focused with a high bar for exceptional quality and results.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills to manage multiple workstreams and competing deadlines with a focus on detail and precision.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply critical thinking skills to complex assignments.
  • A self-starter who can perform under pressure and thrive in an unpredictable work schedule.
  • Solid communication skills and ability to manage both up and down.
  • Strong writing, editing, and research skills.
  • Proficient in the use of digital software and technology, including databases such as Cision, Meltwater, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
