Invariant, a bipartisan government relations and communications firm providing strategic advice to companies, trade associations, non-profits, and individuals, seeks an Associate, Government Relations to join our team. You’ll work directly with team members to gain valuable insights into the policymaking process and develop your network on the Hill and with Washington stakeholders.
What you’ll do

Research and draft policy updates, issue papers, one-pagers, and other collateral for distribution to clients, Capitol Hill, the Administration, and other external audiences.

Provide coverage of hearings, third-party events, and monitor and track federal legislation and regulations.

Spot issues and disseminate timely information to clients, and become an expert on the issues.

Coordinate meetings on behalf of clients with federal policymakers, external stakeholders, and others.

Support networking, new business opportunities, and events.
Who you are

Demonstrated familiarity with the federal legislative process, federal agencies, and relevant third parties and associations, preferably with some Capitol Hill internship experience.

Strong researcher and writer with the ability to interpret Washington for a variety of audiences and spot trends to see around corners.

Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines with a focus on detail and precision.

Comfortable and adaptive when working in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

Solid communication skills and ability to manage both up and down.

Goal-oriented team player focused on adding value, deepening knowledge, and increasing efficiencies.

The target salary range for this role is $60,000 - $67,500 USD annually. The base salary will be determined based on skills, experience, and market data.
