We are seeking an Accounting Associate to join our Washington, DC based accounting team.
You will work in a dynamic environment, providing valuable support to our employees, working closely with our Accounting and Operations team to support Payables processing, Month-end accounting close procedures, and General Ledger reconciliations and presentation. You will also participate in the firm’s budgeting and forecasting process and other projects as needed.

What you’ll do:
- Administer the accounts payable and travel processing and recording with adherence to the firm’s policies and procedures.
- Support Sr. Staff Accounting with client invoicing and revenue recognition policy adherence
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, including account reconciliations, as well as ad hoc analysis and projects
- Support the revenue and cash application billing process
- Produce clear and timely monthly reconciliations to assigned general ledger accounts
- Deliver regular reporting and collaborate with the accounting team to find innovative solutions
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, including risk assessments
Who you are:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
- 1-3 years of experience; professional services, Communications or PR agency a plus.
- Knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Familiarity with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.
- Experience with accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks, Netsuite, Sage Intacct or Microsoft D365) and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Must demonstrate a high degree of confidentiality.
- Ability to set and manage priorities and plan, organize, prioritize, and multi-task a variable workload with solid attention to detail.
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), commonly used accounting concepts, practices, maintaining reporting standards.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills with strong attention to detail.
- Resourceful and proactive, able to deal with issues as they arise
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Capacity to multitask, prioritize, and work under pressure with attention to detail
The target salary range for this role is $50,000 - $60,000 USD annually.
The base salary will be determined based on skills, experience, and market data.
