Position Summary

The Vice President, Integrations & Platform Transformation is responsible for leading post-acquisition integration and leading the design and integration of our core EMR and related systems across the MSO platform. In addition to owning post-close integration execution, this role serves as a key operating partner to M&A and Finance, supporting operational diligence, valuation, and deal assessment through a deep understanding of practice-level performance, scalability, and synergy realization.

This role is accountable for onboarding new affiliates and leading system-wide EMR and related system platform initiatives, ensuring consistent adoption of MSO standards, operating models, and enabling technologies. The VP drives cross-functional execution across Operations, IT, Revenue Cycle, Optical, and Practice Leadership, with a core focus on enterprise integrations and conversions including EMR, WAVE Inventory, and other critical transformation initiatives executed with minimal disruption to patient care, protection of revenue integrity, and achievement of defined integration milestones and performance targets.

Practice & Field Execution Leadership

  • Partner directly with Practice Managers, Physicians, and other members of the MSO Operations Team to drive practice-level execution of integration initiatives, ensuring strategic plans translate into sustained operational performance.
  • Provide hands-on, on-site leadership as needed to troubleshoot challenges, reinforce standards, and accelerate adoption of MSO systems, workflows, and performance expectations.
  • Own end-to-end execution of post-acquisition integration initiatives across both field operations and MSO functional teams, ensuring strategy is translated into consistent, measurable performance at the practice level.
  • Direct and coordinate MSO functional teams (Operations, HR, IT, RCM, Optical, etc.) in support of field execution, serving as the single point of accountability for delivery against integration milestones.
  • Hold field leadership and MSO teams accountable for post-close execution, results, and adherence to integration timelines, KPIs, synergy realization and other underwriting commitments.

 

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Integration Planning & Execution- Develop and execute comprehensive integration plans for each acquisition, coordinating cross-functional workstreams (operations, HR, IT, RCM, optical) to achieve defined milestones.
  • MSO Onboarding & Standardization- Ensure newly acquired practices are onboarded to MSO systems, policies, workflows, and clinical protocols within target timeframes.
  • Change Management & Communication- Lead change management efforts to support staff through transitions; communicate clearly with MSO leadership and practice teams, address concerns, and build commitment to USVMP standards.
  • Integration Performance Monitoring- Track integration progress against milestones and KPIs; identify risks, escalate issues, and implement corrective actions to keep integrations on track.
  • Playbook Development & Continuous Improvement- Maintain and refine the integration playbook based on lessons learned; drive continuous improvement to reduce integration time and improve outcomes.
  • Evaluate target practices for operational scalability, labor efficiency, revenue cycle performance, vendor optimization, and clinical workflow readiness.
  • Identify integration complexity, execution risk, and synergy opportunities to inform valuation and deal structure.
  • Partner with Finance to establish LOI-to-Actual performance tracking, ensuring accountability for post-close results.
  • Lead the operational integration of newly acquired practices into USVMP, ensuring seamless onboarding, rapid adoption of MSO standards, and minimal disruption to patients and staff.

 

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree required (Business, Healthcare Administration, Finance, Operations, or related field).
  • Ongoing executive experience in healthcare strategy, integration, or private equity operations preferred.
  • Master’s degree is strongly preferred (MBA, MHA, or equivalent).

 

Experience

  • 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare operations, integration, or enterprise transformation
  • 7+ years in senior leadership roles within a multi-site healthcare MSO, platform, or PE-backed environment
  • Direct, hands-on experience and ownership of post-acquisition integration for multiple transactions (from LOI through 120+ days post-close)
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams across:
    • Operations
    • Revenue Cycle / Billing
    • IT / EMR conversions
    • HR & compensation alignment
    • Clinical or provider-based workflows
  • History of delivering measurable EBITDA expansion and synergy realization in high-growth or roll-up environments
  • Experience in optometry (preferred), optical (preferred), ophthalmology (preferred), dermatology, dental, or other provider-led MSOs
  • Prior partnership with PE operating partners or portfolio oversight roles
  • Experience scaling a platform from mid-market to enterprise through multiple acquisitions

Sensory Motor Requirements:

  • Required to stand, walk, and sit; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands to handle or feel objects or controls; reach with hands and arms.
  • Regularly required to stoop, kneel, bend, crouch and lift up to 25 pounds.

 

Other:

  • Work is performed primarily in the office in all weather conditions, including temperature extremes.  Work is sometimes performed in emergencies and stressful situations. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet in office settings and moderate in other situations.
  • Other duties as assigned are deemed essential to the ongoing operations of the business.
