We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Front Desk Associate to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing exceptional patient care and supporting the optometric practice. As a Front Desk Associate, you will assist in various clinical and administrative tasks including assisting patients during the check in process, payment collection, data collection, check out process, and ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow within the office.

 

Education and Experience:

·         High school diploma or equivalent.

·         Two years’ minimum experience in customer service.

 

Essential Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail to maintain accurate records.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being self-motivated.
  • Strong reliability and a track record of punctuality.
  • Proficiency with typing, Microsoft Office, and general computer skills.
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise.
  • Multitasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks
  • Experience as a receptionist in an optometry office is a plus but not required.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Greet patients and visitors professionally, ensuring a positive first impression of the practice
  • Schedule and confirm appointments, managing the calendar effectively to optimize patient flow.
  • Perform clerical duties such as scanning, data entry, etc.
  • Collects accurate demographics and insurance eligibility information.
  • Registers new and established patients according to expected workflows.
  • Captures and updates insurance information in the patient’s record.
  • Completes enrollment and necessary forms for financial programs.
  • Completes necessary clinical forms required for patient visit.
  • Ensures forms and insurance cards/eligibility are scanned and indexed appropriately and timely.
  • Ensure confidentiality and compliance with company policies regarding sensitive information.

 

SENSORY, MOTOR REQUIREMENTS:

  • Extensive use of computers.
  • Ability to hear and speak clearly.
  • Free to move about offices, practice locations.
  • Able to sit for extended periods of time.
