JOB SUMMARY:
We are looking for a Temporary, Full-Time, Optometric Assistant. The job assignment is available from August 4th, 2025- November 26th, 2025.

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Optometric Technician to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing exceptional patient care and supporting the optometric practice. As an Optometric Technician, you will assist in various clinical and administrative tasks including assisting patients during the exam process, pre-testing, data collection, and ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow within the office.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- HS Diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree preferred
- Healthcare/medical assistant experience preferred
- Optical/Eyecare experience strongly preferred
- Familiarity with medical records management and medical terminology is strongly preferred.
- Understanding of vital signs assessment and physiology knowledge is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills to build rapport with patients and to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Attention to detail, organizational skills, and a commitment to providing excellent patient care.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform preliminary eye exams and tests, including measuring visual acuity and assessing ocular health.
- Assist the optometrist during examinations by preparing patients and explaining procedures.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation of patient information.
- Educate patients on medical conditions, diseases, and treatment options at the direction of the optometrist.
- Ensure the cleanliness and organization of examination rooms and equipment.
- Utilize electronic health record systems such as Eyefinity for patient management.
- Collaborate with team members to enhance the overall patient experience.
SENSORY, MOTOR REQUIREMENTS:
- Required to stand, walk and sit; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands to handle or feel objects or controls; reach with hands and arms.
- Regularly required to stoop, kneel, bend, crouch and lift up to 25 pounds.
- Extensive use of computers.
- Ability to hear and speak clearly.
- Free to move about offices, practice locations.
- Able to stand and sit for extended periods of time.
