JOB DESCRIPTION

Nanite is pioneering the future of genetic drug delivery with our safe and resorbable polymer nanoparticles (PNPs). PNPs have clear advantages over viral vectors and lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) but advances have long been hampered by a poor understanding of polymer-biology interactions. Nanite brings systems-based understanding of these constraints, allowing the coherent engineering of precision delivery vectors. Our mission is to deliver the undeliverable.

We are a venture-backed disruptive Machine Learning/AI therapeutics company focused on

revolutionizing drug delivery. The Senior Research Associate (Sr. RA) will work in a fast-paced start-up environment playing a crucial technical role in synthesizing polymers of a range of different types , formulating and characterizing polymer nanoparticles, and screening their performance for applications in in vitro and in vivo gene delivery. The candidate will work with senior leadership and partner projects gaining broad internal and external exposure.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES

  • Working with a close-knit team of PhD scientists, the Sr. RA will perform biology techniques such as qPCR, high content cell imaging, and immunoassays.
  • Generate, analyze, and record high quality data and work with fellow team members to transfer data to ML/AI group.
  • Support the synthesis of novel polymers using techniques developed in house.
  • Support the team with study set up, study execution, and data collection into electronic lab notebooks with attention to detail.
  • Help maintain lab supplies, lab cleanliness, and other duties as assigned based on experience.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • BS or MS in biology, chemistry, biochemistry, or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience working in a wet lab supporting scientists at all levels.
  • Experience in preparing standard and custom cell growth media, buffers, nutrient plates for microbial growth and other lab reagents.
  • Experienced with aseptic technique, mammalian cell culture and transfection.
  • Hands-on molecular biology experience required.
  • Familiarity with electronic lab notebooks (ELN) is highly desirable.
  • Experience in maintaining a safe lab working environment.
  • Must be flexible and adaptable with work schedules and performing tasks.
  • Excellent communicator and highly organized.
  • Strong, collaborative team player, with demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment as well as independently.
  • Ability to perform highly complex experiments and techniques with high levels of reliability and accuracy within time constraints.
  • Ability to coordinate and manage multiple projects in a complex environment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and willingness to cross-train in multiple areas.

WORKING CONDITIONS

This is a 100% on site, at the bench laboratory role. We are located in the Innovation and Design Building in the Boston Seaport.
