The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing a wide variety of maintenance, repair, and preventative maintenance tasks throughout Villatel's luxury vacation home communities in Davenport, Florida. This role plays a critical part in ensuring homes, amenities, and facilities remain safe, functional, and guest-ready while delivering an exceptional experience for both guests and team members.

The ideal candidate is a dependable, hands-on professional with experience in general maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair work across multiple trades including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and general facility maintenance. This individual will work closely with Operations, Dispatch, Housekeeping, and Guest Experience teams to quickly resolve issues and maintain Villatel's standards of excellence.

 

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

General Maintenance & Repairs:

  • Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting on residential homes, resort amenities, and common areas.
  • Diagnose and repair issues involving plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC equipment, appliances, fixtures, doors, windows, and general building components.
  • Complete assigned work orders accurately and efficiently while maintaining Villatel's quality standards.
  • Perform preventative maintenance inspections and services to reduce equipment failures and prolong asset life.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while following all company safety procedures.

Guest Experience & Operational Support:

  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests impacting guest satisfaction and resort operations.
  • Coordinate with Dispatch and Operations teams to prioritize urgent service requests and effectively manage daily workloads.
  • Partner with Housekeeping and Guest Experience teams to complete repairs during turnover periods while minimizing guest disruption.
  • Document completed work, repairs, inspections, and preventative maintenance activities within Villatel's work order management system.
  • Maintain professionalism while interacting with guests, homeowners, vendors, and fellow team members.

Equipment & Property Care:

  • Inspect facilities and equipment regularly to identify maintenance needs and safety concerns.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and maintenance supplies in good working condition.
  • Assist with property improvement projects, renovations, and special assignments as needed.
  • Support resort-wide initiatives focused on safety, appearance, efficiency, and operational excellence.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of maintenance experience in hospitality, residential, commercial, or related environments preferred.
  • Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, appliance repair, and general maintenance practices.
  • Ability to diagnose problems, identify solutions, and complete repairs independently.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple work orders in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call assignments as required.
  • Hospitality, resort, hotel, vacation rental, or property management experience is a plus.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds or more.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, crouch, crawl, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces for extended periods.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods while performing inspections and maintenance tasks.
  • Ability to reach, stretch, climb, and maneuver safely while utilizing tools and equipment.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity required to operate maintenance tools and equipment.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work in indoor and outdoor environments, including exposure to heat and varying weather conditions.
