Summary/Objective:  Network Engineer analyzes malfunctions with commercial audio/video products from a networking perspective, performs troubleshooting, and provides advice on related bug fixes. Secondary priority will be to perform testing of audio/video products. This will involve Atlona providing training/certifications in both commercial A/V products and Software Quality Assurance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1.       Troubleshooting of networking functions of commercial A/V products and providing recommendations regarding related bug fixes.

2.       Completing on-the-job training courses and obtaining certifications in commercial A/V and Software Quality Assurance, while applying what you’ve learned to perform the tasks that follow here.

3.       Participates in complex design reviews of Product Requirements Documents (PRDs, which are specifications) by developing test plans and test cases, executing test cases, and identifying/ analyzing defects, questionable functions, errors and inconsistencies in software program functions, outputs, online screens and content for Atlona products.

4.       Understands complex software designs and tests software programs to ensure they meet complex design specifications. This includes reviewing computer logs and reports, and validating system and data files.

5.       Documents, tracks and communicates software test plans, test results, analyses and unresolved problems.

6.       Maintains testing software tools; test plans and scripts; and documentation of test findings.

7.       Coordinates testing activities including the use of resources outside of QA department.

8.       Assist with training among Test Engineers and employees in other Atlona departments.

9.       Contributes to establishing department processes, standards, procedures and practices.

Education: Bachelor of Science in a technical field such as computer science, engineering, or hard science (chemistry, physics, etc.) or equivalent work experience.

 

Experience:

4+ years of experience in network design, implementation, troubleshooting, planning, switching, routing, and documenting.

Experience with enterprise network architecture and enterprise network switchers and firewalls by HP, Brocade, Arista, Juniper and Cisco

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Good technical presentation and training skills

Experience with packet capture and analysis of common network protocols such as UDP, RTP, PTP, TLS, HTTPs, Etc.

Knowledge of network security including NAC, 802.11X, SSL, TLS and certificate management.

Licenses/Certifications Preferred: 

CCNA/CCNP or equivalent certifications from other vendors is preferred.

Supervisory Responsibilities:  This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
