OVERVIEW:

The Sales Engineer is responsible for pre-sales consultation, design and quoting as well as post-sales project support of Atlona’s HDBase-T and AV over IP products and control and management software solutions.  This person will create and manage pre-sales support tools and application designs in accordance with current Atlona guidelines and certification standards. Training, testing and certification will be administered through the Atlona Academy Online Learning Management System (LMS) and instructor led courses.

The Sales Engineer will partner on the design, engineering, delivery, and optimization of Atlona products and solutions while supporting pre-sale services across all Atlona commercial and residential client applications. They will assist in the research, certification, proposal and implementation of Atlona solutions while helping to define strategies for all future services. Additionally, they may help drive vendor partnerships, improve overall services, possess significant technical leadership and will execute to the standards and methodologies of Atlona.

The Sales Engineer will hold presentations at industry events, conferences and exhibitions from time to time and will contribute to the thought leadership of Atlona in the field of AV Integration through webinars, written material and customer presentations.

Applicants must reside in any of the following states:  Florida, Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Eastern half of Tennessee, Kentucky, Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, Western Pennsylvania, Ohio or Michigan. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Primary responsibility will be pre-sales support of Atlona products and solutions for all Atlona staff, partners and customers through training, sales tools and consultation.
  • Responsible for partnering with business stakeholders, product development team, customer support team and sales teams to further enhance and optimize Atlona products and solutions.
  • Create and deliver highly technical and professional documentation, diagrams, presentations and demonstrate the ability to multi-task and effectively switch between technical leadership, pre-sales support and daily systems support requests. Strong ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues associated with HDBaseT, AVoIP and control and management functionality.
  • Close team interaction with all functions within Atlona and act as an interface to/from the market.
  • Experience in technical support / project management in the ProAV or related market
  • Proven track record and experience in customer facing technical support.
  • Ability to travel 50-75% within the region.  Possible international travel as well.  


REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCIES:

  • BS Degree in associated IT field and/or IT Relevant Certifications
  • Hands on experience working with video encoders / decoders (MPEG, H.264, JPEG2000) system level products
  • Strong technical background in video distribution products, standards and technology.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Visio or similar drafting tools
  • Must have proven experience in Enterprise Sales environment
  • Must have proven experience demonstrating and training field sales teams and customers.
  • Experience in Audio/Visual sales engineering and application design
  • An understanding of structured cabling products and topologies a plus
  • CTS certification is a plus.
  • Excellent computer skills, MS Office, Web, CRM Tools (NetSuite)
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
  • Proven track record and experience in customer facing technical support
  • Fluent in English (orally and in writing)
