About the Role 

 

This Software Developer Engineer in Test (SDET) is a technical role to assist with goTenna’s software, firmware, and hardware testing activities. Candidates should be able to work independently and hit the ground running, and have a demonstrated interest in technology and business, strong problem-solving abilities, and excellent interpersonal skills. 

 

Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Independently create, implement, and execute automated test scripts.

  • Assist with maintaining and updating the automation environment to include CI/CD workflows.

  • Create test scripts and assist with execution of Python and JavaScript test scripts 

  • Reporting and documenting bugs found during testing

  • Collaborate with the Development and Product Teams on a regular basis.

  • Assist with manual and field testing as needed


 Required Experience: 

  • Bachelors or Master’s degree with 3 to 5 years of experience. 

  • Proficient with at least one current programming language, such as Python, Java  or JavaScript.

  • Create test scripts and assist with execution of Python test scripts 

  • Proficient with different browsers and other related web-based technologies 

  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills 

  • Strong Communication & Interpersonal skills 

  • Exhibits knowledge of software development lifecycles and Agile methodologies 

  • Keen attention to detail and high level of accuracy 

  • Self-starter, ability to multi-task and work in fast-paced, high-growth environment 

 

 Preferred Experience: 

  • Preference for working in the innovative, fast-paced environment of ap company.

  • Experience with mobile chat apps (Android and iOS)

  • Proficiency with debugging techniques and tools

  • Familiarity with Cypress Framework

  • An affinity for people who like telling jokes, sharing funny links, do cool stuff outside work, and try to be creative about team building (e.g. survival skills training, murder mystery dinner theater, shuffleboard tournament, Mafia/Werewolf). 

  • Familiarity with hardware such as Arduino and/or Raspberry Pi
