About the Role

This Jr. Software/Hardware Quality Assurance (QA) engineer is a technical role to assist with goTenna’s software, firmware and hardware testing activities. Candidates should have a demonstrated interest in technology and business, strong problem-solving abilities, and excellent interpersonal skills.

Primary Responsibilities:

●      Follow a provided test plan and execute test cases manually for goTenna’s mobile and web apps

●      Assist with making improvements to existing test plans

●      Assist with execution of Python test scripts

●      Reporting and documenting bugs found during testing

●      Add or modify test cases to existing Python test automation scripts

●      Assist with field testing

Required Experience:

●      Bachelors or Master’s degree in computer or electrical engineering with 0 to 1 year of experience.

●      Knowledge and/or practical experience with at least one current programming language, such as Python, Java or C++

●      Familiarity with hardware such as Arduino and/or Raspberry Pi

●      Familiarity with mobile chat apps (Android and iOS)

●      Good knowledge of working with different browsers and other related web-based technologies

●      Good analytical and problem-solving skills

●      Strong Communication & Interpersonal skills

●      Exhibits knowledge of software development lifecycles and Agile methodologies

●      Keen attention to detail and high level of accuracy

●      Self-starter, ability to multi-task and work in fast-paced, high-growth environment

●      Ability to commute to NY-area state parks for field testing

●      Preference for working in the innovative, fast-paced environment of ap

●      An affinity for people who like telling jokes, sharing funny links, do cool stuff outside work, and try to be creative about team-building (e.g. survival skills training, murder mystery dinner theater, shuffleboard tournament, Mafia/Werewolf).
