About the role

goTenna is looking for an organized and results-driven member to join the Supply Chain and Logistics Team.  One who is passionate about problem-solving and identifying and actioning creative ways to drive results, continuous improvement, and proper supply chain risk management. As a Buyer, you will coordinate purchasing activities with engineering, product development, quality, finance, and logistics departments to acquire inventory in a cost-effective and timely manner. You will manage the BOM for each finished good using demand planning protocols. Process purchase requisitions in Asana, purchase change orders in Arena, and send and analyze RFQs to suppliers. You will also monitor the cost, schedule, and scope of assigned contracts and subcontracts to negotiate the highest quality at the best value. This role requires someone who’s action-oriented, hyper-organized, and has a solutions-oriented mindset with the ability to think critically in a fast-paced environment.

Primary Responsibilities:

      Composes purchase orders, verifies availability, establishes delivery dates, monitors back orders, expedites deliveries, confirms receipt w/Logistics and Ops Manager, and supports the finance team to process payments.

      Forge and maintain trust relationships with suppliers and internal customers. Collaborates with team members and communicates relevant information to the direct leader.

      In conjunction with the Supply Chain Manager, develop and place opportunistic buys for increased discount and/or rebate maximization, to include a review of additional costs/risks incurred with large inventory position (inventory reserve & establish safety stock levels).

      Requests, organizes and manages product samples from suppliers.

      Send RFQs & CBDs analyzing supplier proposals as appropriate, pricing, delivery, and Terms & Conditions aligned to our standards for assigned commodities.

      Analysis of sourcing pipeline, coordination of supplier selection with Supply Chain Manager, and support in the commercial negotiation process.

      Identifies opportunities for lead time reduction, inventory reduction, SKU consolidation in PLM, and other continuous improvement opportunities, and decreases cost on special buys.

      Evaluate, manage, and support supplier visits based upon quality, pricing, on-time delivery, communication, capacity, and capabilities.

      Risk and Constraint Management for suppliers in responsibility, actively monitors risk indicators of supply base and initiates appropriate actions in the case identified risks. (eg. Expedite/de-expedite orders, propose additional orders placed for at-risk material)

      Negotiate terms of agreements to achieve the best deal for our company; LTAs ensure the supplier maintains compliance. Frame contracts / LTA negotiations and development of sourcing pipeline

      Attend daily project and production planning meetings, and provide updates as required.

      Provide strategic leadership to key business projects, leveraging strong project and change management skills for high-value outsourcing and resourcing projects. Manages multiple projects at once by prioritizing, setting deadlines, and coordinating the flow of information internally and externally.

Required Experience:

      Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, or related discipline required, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

      Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience in a highly regulated manufacturing, supply chain, planning, or inventory environment required.

      Proficient use of and experience with ERP systems (Oracle NetSuite strongly preferred).

      Strong attention to detail and analytical skills with the ability to interpret and apply results to resolve issues.

      Ability to handle and prioritize multiple projects concurrently.

      Experience in manufacturing, new product introduction, sourcing, contract negotiation, working with legal, finance, and engineering.

      Experience sourcing electro-mechanical sub assemblies (PCBA’s, wire harnesses, plastics, sheet metal) including raw materials and semiconductor components.

      Excellent organizational skills

      Ability to communicate in a clear, concise, and efficient manner

      Self-motivated and willing to work in a fast-past environment while learning new things

ITAR: U.S. Citizen or Green Card Required
