High Rock Accounting is searching for Unicorns! We are a growing accounting firm looking to expand our team of Rockstars.
About the Role:
Accounting Specialists are the core accountants on our teams. Specialists will have a minimum of a 4-year degree in accounting, business management, or a related field with appropriate direct accounting experience. Specialists are responsible for full-cycle accounting, analysis, and special projects. This role will also have direct client communication.

Role Specifics
Role Responsibilities:
- Client success liaison to interface with clients frequently
- Support team lead with quality client service
- Identify areas for efficiency improvements
- Full cycle accounting for businesses including but not limited to:
- Account reconciliations
- Expense coding
- Accounts Receivable / Payable Management
- Fixed Asset Management
- Month-end close preparation including the gathering of source documents
- Payroll Management (client)
- Month-end journal entries
- Allocations
- Project/Cost accounting
- Equity accounting
- GAAP accounting
- Research and documentation
- Manage third party software integration and tie-outs (e.g. bill.com, Hubdoc, etc)
- Team project management coordination, oversight of shared services team
- Support team lead to provide financial reports to our clients
- Review, document, and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s)
- Provide timely follow-up and backend customer service and support
- Interface with various team members
Role Expectations:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Management and 2 years of related industry full-cycle accounting experience or equivalent work experience in public accounting (big 4 preferred)
- Strong attention to detail
- Capable of speaking in the basic industry lingo
- Organized and have strong discipline to work in a remote environment
- Desire to take on more projects at work and aren’t afraid to ask for specific work or challenges to support you in “Choosing Your Own Adventure”
- Aptitude for technology
- Adept in general ledger software, specifically QuickBooks Online and Xero
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Motivation and strong desire to be a Rockstar and take on new challenges to learn as much as possible
- Manage multiple sources of communication on a continuous basis while setting your own boundaries
- Track time for specific projects
Bonus points if you:
- Have worked with Sage Intacct or Netsuite
- Have implemented new technology
- Have a sense of humor
- Have a Master’s degree in accounting
- Have a CPA or EA license
- Have experience with project management
- Have worked in direct client service
