The Opportunity

InCharge Energy is seeking a talented Instructional Designer & LMS Administrator in our Richmond, VA office. As part of the Technical Training team, you will support the design, development, implementation and maintenance of training content, policies, and procedures to fulfill the evolving training needs of the organization.

What You’ll Do

  • Collaborate with technical training team to research and recommend training delivery technologies including ABB LMS “MyLearning” to support organizational training objectives
  • Evaluate existing eLearning solutions for ongoing development opportunities
  • Determine audience groups to create, implement, and maintain training curricula and assignment to learner job roles
  • Partner with subject-matter experts to produce technical training content for employees across the organization
  • Apply instructional design techniques to deliver training related materials including procedures, processes, outlines, lesson plans, storyboards, and product-related documentation
  • Author and publish engaging and creative instructor-led and eLearning solutions
  • Design learning activities, assignments, and assessments
  • Develop storyboards and scripts for video and audio content
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to learners accessing the LMS and course content
  • Manage ID projects and quality of work to ensure that learning solutions are on time and on target
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Keep current on best practices in instructional design

Your Experience and Capabilities

  • Bachelor’s degree or certification in education, instructional design, instructional technology, or other related field
  • 3+ years of experience in classroom instruction and instructional design
  • Proven proficiency with corporate learning management systems (LMS)
  • Knowledge of adult learning theory and assessment
  • Tech-savvy with strong computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite) and eLearning authoring tools, platforms and software (i.e.., Articulate Storyline or Adobe Captivate)
  • Curious to learn new technologies, demystify complex material and effectively convey technical information to learners
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Detail-oriented
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment
