InCharge Energy is seeking a Staff Accountant for our Santa Monica office. The General Accountant must be resourceful, possess knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and have solid accounting skills. Position requires good communication and interpersonal skills. This is a mid-level position.

Responsibilities:

  • Hands on accounting operational functions – AP, AR, Payroll, Financial Reporting
  • Manage, maintain, and analyze financial data points in QuickBooks Online
  • Review, analyze and enter vendor bills, post month end journal entries
  • Monitor AR Aging weekly, send AR inquiries to customers and make Collection calls
  • Facilitate with monthly closes, reconcile bank and credit card statements
  • Support day-to-day accounting and administrative functions
  • Assist with business annual license renewals, monthly/quarterly sales tax filings, Certificate of Insurance, Credit Applications, Vendor/Supplier documents
  • Maintain financial controls and guidelines and maintain confidential information
  • Provide necessary updates to management by evaluating and analyzing appropriate data entries in QuickBooks Online
  • Support Controller and Sr. Accountant with ad-hoc tasks and projects, some of which may require quick turnaround.



Requirements:

  • 3-4 years of experience in accounting
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Analytical and strategic thinker, problem solver
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment, team player
  • Capacity to work autonomously and in an unstructured environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong attention to detail and a task-oriented mindset
  • Extremely well organized and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Tech savvy
  • Proficiency with QuickBooks Online
  • Proficiency with MS Office- Excel formulas and Pivot Tables – a plus
