Description:
InCharge is seeking an Electric Vehicle Commissioning Engineer for our Richmond, Virginia office. This role will lead all EVSE End-of-Line activities. The candidate will be responsible for provisioning Electric Vehicle Charger with software and configurations according to InCharge’s customer needs. The candidate will lead a team that tests each charger before shipping according to defined test cases and document the outcome properly. These activities entail leadership with a hands-on mentality, working with a team on electronic devices to program them accordingly. Additionally, the support for validating new EVSE hardware with InCharge’s In-Control backend to ensure full functionality and a high-quality charging experience by the customers in conjunction with the Network Engineer and Interoperability Engineer is expected.
Responsibilities:
- Be the Directly Responsible Individual (DRI) for:
- Commence Pre-Commissioning of all chargers before shipping
- Perform system level testing and burn in
- Troubleshoot and repair systems as required.
- Perform testing of subassemblies and other electronic devices.
- Load various types of software and firmware as identified by configuration.
- Interpret wiring schematics and diagrams and successfully carry out applicable installation and rework tasks related to cabling and other mechanical functions.
- Understand and troubleshoot basic AC and DC circuits while working with voltages up to 480VAC and up to 1000VDC.
- Possess component knowledge of PCs.
- Ensure the process to provision new chargers for the In-Control backend is executed properly.
- Execute and document all EoL-Test procedures
- If necessary, provide Tier 2 support for the operations team to resolve commissioning and field issues
- Ensure the electrical safety of the warehouse and commissioning teams
- Leverage automation and forecast sales within Salesforce
Qualifications and Skills:
- Competent in all aspects of Electro/Mechanical Assemblies.
- 3+ years’ experience in electronics/electrical systems testing
- experience in leading small to mid-sized teams
- a passion for quality and ensuring that world-class products are delivered according to the customer’s requirements
- Electrical Safety Training (NFPA-70e or similar)
- Education in electrical safety
- An excellent ability to work with and communicate across cross-functional teams
- Excellent computer skills, especially with communication tools and program management tools
- Be comfortable working in a fast moving, multi-threaded, environment
- Good written and verbal communication skills
