Position Summary:

 

Responsible for leading the transfer to manufacturing and scale up of new products and processes developed by the R&D team. Build upon transfer success, optimizing production processes, developing new capabilities, and leading continuous improvement efforts.. 

 

Essential Functions:

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with the Design and R&D teams to align product design and development with manufacturing capabilities.
  • Develops secondary/post processing operations from a technical perspective, providing guidance to R&D and optimizing existing manufacturing capabilities.
  • Oversee new product transfers and scale-ups, ensuring adherence to schedules and agreed-upon performance metrics.
  • Document manufacturing processes in Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions, leading personnel training.
  • Drive validation efforts, ensuring compliance with industry standards and organizational protocols.
  • Identify and test new production performance improvement opportunities and apply these in existing manufacturing settings.
  • Spearhead continuous improvement projects by analyzing production data, identifying trends, and implementing process optimizations.
  • Work collaboratively with the design team post-transfer to enhance print speed and unit throughput while upholding product quality.
  • Ensure compliance with GMP requirements, OSHA, ISO, and customer-specific standards.
  • Provide technical support to the supply chain for materials and equipment, ensuring timely and budget-conscious project delivery.
  • Deliver regular updates to the Operations team throughout the design and development phase of New Product Introduction (NPI).
  • Performs additional duties and assignments as directed by management.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline with a minimum of 3 years of relevant industry experience, or Master's degree with a minimum of 1 year of experience.
  • Track record of transferring concepts into industrial manufacturing settings.
  • Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to quickly identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, fostering effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Preference for experience with 3D printing equipment in a manufacturing setting or a background in a startup environment.
