Assistant Tech and Operations Analyst – Part-Time Employee

About the Role

We’re seeking a Part-Time Assistant Tech and Operations Analyst to join our team at 600 Corporate Pointe in Culver City, California. We need someone to coordinate technology setups for focus groups and playtests, assist with in-office tasks, and help with office IT equipment/asset management. This role reports to the Operations Manager/Technical Analyst and will be part-time with availability required for afternoon and evening sessions (around 20 hours per week). Occasional weekend work may also be necessary.

You will work with the Operations Manager/Technical Analyst to set up and take down computers and hardware for research involving multiplayer PC, console, and mobile video games, as well as online streaming and communication software like OBS, Zoom, and Microsoft Teams. Additional duties include general office maintenance, such as moving furniture, refilling supplies, and preparing meeting rooms. Training in specific technology will be provided, but an interest in and experience with gaming and streaming setups is preferred. Occasionally, you will face strict deadlines and may need to troubleshoot issues quickly. You will also help enforce strict confidentiality protocols for in-progress, unannounced video games.

Responsibilities

  • Tech Setup and Management: Coordinate and manage the setup and takedown of streaming and playtest technology for in-house focus groups and playtests. PC configuration skills are essential.

 

  • Virtual Meeting Coordination: Schedule and coordinate virtual meetings using Livestorm, Zoom, and other platforms. Ensure smooth technical operations by conducting tech check-ins with participants and managing links and schedules.

 

  • Hardware Monitoring: Oversee and troubleshoot streaming and playtest hardware during sessions, including managing OBS software and peripheral devices such as USB microphones, webcams, and multiple PCs.

 

  • Participant Coordination: Assist with participant check-ins, NDA and consent forms, and support group moderators to ensure smooth sessions. Be capable of commanding the attention of groups of gamers, providing clear instructions on steps involved in testing game builds and/or reviewing game materials, and ensuring that group participants comply with these steps.

 

General Office Tasks: Handle building and facility requests, paperwork tasks, food orders, and other standard office duties.

 

  • Project Coordination: Track project progress, coordinate logistics, and ensure the right participants are in the right place at the right time.

 

Key Skills Needed

  • Strong familiarity with consumer tech, especially Windows PCs and game consoles.
  • Experience using OBS, Discord, and other recording/communication platforms.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Creative problem-solving skills for tech and streaming issues.

Salary
This is a part-time (around 20 hours per week) position with a pay rate of $18 per hour.
